Voice AI agent

An AI receptionist that answers, books and hands off, around the clock

The RingIris voice agent picks up your business calls and has a real conversation: it answers questions from your knowledge base, qualifies the caller, books the appointment and passes the call to a person when one is needed. Every call is recorded, transcribed, summarized and tied to the marketing that produced it.

What it does on a call

The agent works from the instructions, knowledge and tools you give it. These are the jobs most businesses start with.

Answers 24/7 or as overflow

Put it on every call, only after hours, only when nobody picks up, or behind one option in your phone menu.

Answers questions in your words

Hours, services, service area, policies and FAQs come from a knowledge base built from your scripts, documents and web pages.

Qualifies and captures

It asks your intake questions and saves the answers (name, need, location, timing, new or existing) into fields on the call record.

Books appointments

With a connected calendar it checks availability and books during the call. Otherwise it collects preferred times for your team to confirm.

Transfers to people

It hands the caller to a person or queue when they ask, when your rules say so, or when the question is outside what it should handle.

Takes messages and texts follow-ups

It takes a complete message, alerts the right person, and can text the caller a confirmation or next step after the call.

Tags intent as it goes

A background classifier labels the call (for example sales, support or spam) and captures data before any transfer, without slowing the conversation.

Logs everything

Recording, transcript, summary and captured fields land in one timeline, and can trigger alerts, workflows and CRM updates.

Shows which ad made it ring

Because it answers tracked numbers, each conversation is attributed to its campaign, and bookings can be sent to ad platforms as conversions.

How it works

  1. A call comes in

On a tracked number, so the source, campaign and keyword are recorded before anyone says hello.

  2. Routing decides who answers

Your schedule and rules send it to your team, or to the voice agent after hours, on overflow or by menu choice.

  3. The agent handles the conversation

It answers, asks your questions, checks availability, books, takes a message or transfers, following your instructions and guardrails.

  4. Your team gets the result

A summary, transcript and captured details go to the right person, your CRM and, where it fits, your ad platforms.

Handoff to humans

The AI handles the routine. People handle the rest.

A voice agent should know when to step aside. You decide the triggers, and the caller never has to repeat themselves because the details go along with the transfer.

  • Caller asks for a person: transfer right away
  • High-value or urgent call: send to a specific person or queue
  • Nobody available: take a message and alert by text or email
  • Topic outside its instructions: hand off instead of guessing
  • Summary and captured fields travel with the call

Setup

Built with you, tested before it goes live

Onboarding is done with a real person. We write the agent's instructions and knowledge base with you, connect booking and handoff, and run test calls until it sounds like your business.

How onboarding works
  • Gather your FAQs, services, hours, policies and web pages
  • Write the greeting, intake questions and instructions
  • Choose a voice and set when the agent answers
  • Connect your calendar, transfers, texts and CRM where available
  • Test calls, adjust, then switch on (start with after hours if you prefer)

Guardrails

It stays on script

You control what the agent knows and what it may do. Guardrail instructions keep it focused on your business and away from topics it shouldn't touch.

  • Answers only from the knowledge you provide
  • Off-topic and out-of-scope questions are declined or handed off
  • Topics it must never discuss, set by you
  • Every call recorded and transcribed for review
  • Not an emergency service: callers with emergencies are told to call 911
  • Not a substitute for licensed professional advice

Voice AI FAQ

Will callers know they're talking to AI?

We recommend telling them, and the agent can introduce itself as an automated assistant. Callers can ask for a person at any time. Disclosure and call recording rules vary by state, so check what applies to your business.

Can it book appointments directly?

Yes, when your calendar is connected it can check availability and book during the call. Which scheduling systems connect, and how, is something we confirm with you during scoping. Without a connection it collects preferred times for your team.

What happens if it can't answer a question?

It follows your rules: transfer to a person, take a message, or tell the caller someone will follow up. It is instructed not to guess outside the knowledge you give it.

Do I need to answer every call with AI?

No. Many businesses start with after-hours and overflow calls only, and keep people answering during the day.

What does my team see after an AI call?

The recording, transcript, a short summary, the details it captured and the marketing source of the call, in the same timeline as calls your team answers. Alerts can go out by text or email.

Can I keep my phone number?

Yes. You can forward your existing line or route chosen calls to the agent, and we can port numbers into RingIris where possible.

Is it suitable for healthcare or other sensitive calls?

It can handle scheduling and routine questions, with sensitive and clinical matters handed to staff. Talk to us about your compliance requirements and we'll explain the configuration options.

How is it priced?

We quote based on the features you use and your call volume. Request a quote for a written proposal.
